Gospel Communities

If you want to grow as a Christian, you need to be deeply connected with two things: God’s Word and God’s people.  The best way to do that at DPC is to join a Gospel Community.

What they're about

We want our Gospel Communities to be places where people genuinely share all the ups and downs of life with one another – more than that – we want them to be places where people can work out what it looks like to live out the truth of the gospel in every area of the lives.

When do they occur?

Gospel Communities meet on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings.  On a typical night people will share some food, discuss a particular passage from the Bible, pray for each other, and generally just share life.

DNA Triplets

Gospel DNA triplets involve three Christians meeting together regularly for discipleship, nurture, and accountability.  The aim of these groups is to help us all to be continually thinking through the implications of the gospel for our lives.

Children at DPC

Children are valued members of the DPC church family.  Below are some ways they can get involved.

Children's Talk

During every Sunday service we have a short interactive talk to help the children engage with the truth of God's Word.

Creche

Every Sunday during the sermon we have creche for pre-school aged children.  This gives the children a safe space to play in together, and it gives parents the opportunity to concentrate on listening to the sermon.

Kids Church

During the school term Darebin Kids Church runs every Sunday.  Children start the service with everyone as a sign that they are valued members of God's family at DPC.  Following the Children's Talk they head out to Kids Church to do various activities that help them to explore the teachings of the Bible in a format that is appropriate to their age.

Mainly Music

Young children and their parents/caregivers join together for a fun, thirty-minute music session, then afterwards enjoy snacks and refreshments in a relaxed setting. Mainly Music is an activity you and your children can participate in, from birth to school age.

Serve

Jesus calls us to serve others, not only within DPC but also those around us.  Some of the ways we do this at Darebin Presbyterian Church are listed below.

Serving our wider community

As a church DPC is passionate about engaging with, and serving our local community.  In the past been we have cleaned up rubbish and planted trees with the “Friends of the Merri Creek”, participated in the City of Darebin “Relay for Life,” and helped with collecting excess food from the Preston Market.

If you have a need, or know of an opportunity for us to serve in the local community, please let us know.

Serving on Sundays

We believe that God has given all Christians particular gifts and talents to glorify Him and encourage the rest of his people.  There are lots of great opportunities for you to use your gifts to love and serve others during our Sunday Services.

Giving

The good news about Jesus is completely free, so if you’re not a Christian, or not a regular at DPC, we do not want your money!

But if you’re a DPC regular and would like to support our ministry click here.

Praying

Our hope is that DPC would be a church in which prayer is simply a part of the regular rhythms of our community life.

That said, we do meet together fortnightly, at 8am on Saturday mornings to pray.
